With Gifty’s new promo code functionality, you can create promotional campaigns for your gift cards and give customers that extra nudge to make a purchase. Think Black Friday deals, exclusive email offers, or limited-time social media promotions. The possibilities are endless!

How to create a promo code

Creating a promo code in the Gifty dashboard is simple and fast. Just follow these steps:

1.Go to dashboard.gifty.nl and log in to your account.
2.In the menu, click on ‘Order module.’
3.Select the ‘Promotion Codes’ tab.
4.Click on ‘Add’ to create a new promo code.


Step 1 – General settings

Promotion typeChoose the type of promotion you want to offer.
Promotion codeEnter the specific code customers will need to use, such as ‘BLACKFRIDAY24.’
Usage limitSet how many times the code can be used.
Validity periodSpecify the start and end date of the promo code.

Turn the ‘Promotion active‘ switch on and click ‘Next step.’


Step 2 – Offer an extra gift card

RewardChoose a fixed amount, a package, or a percentage of the gift card’s value.
Reward valueEnter the amount or percentage you want to give away, or select a specific package as a reward. You can create new packages here. Note: the package does not need to be published in the order module.
ValiditySet the validity period for the free gift card (from 1 month to 10 years).
Conditions Define the conditions under which customers will receive this bonus, such as purchases starting at €50 or for specific packages.
Reporting labelsAdd a label to easily track the performance of the promo code in the Gifty dashboard.

Click ‘Next Step.’


Step 3 – Email settings

LanguageChoose the language of the email.
Sender name and Email addressEnter the sender’s name and email address.
Email SubjectFor example: “A Gift from Us.”
Message to the customer“Thank you for participating in our promotion! You’ll receive a gift card to use with us. Enjoy your gift!”
ConfirmClick ‘Confirm’ to save the settings.
Multi-languageMake sure to write both the subject line and the email content in Dutch and English.


Share the promo code

Extra credit with a fixed amount or percentage
For example, customers receive an additional €20 gift card by email when they purchase a gift card worth €100 or more online. This is a compelling incentive to buy your gift card and share the promotion with others. The extra gift card can be kept or gifted to someone else. Promotions like these work exceptionally well during holidays or special sales events like Black Friday. The higher the incentive, the greater the willingness to purchase.
